USA Grappling Membership

USA Grappling (USAG), a 501c3 organization, as part of membership provides secondary sports accident coverage for injuries sustained in grappling activities. The American Grappling Federation (AGF) is pleased to introduce this opportunity to the grappling community in an effort to provide coverage for all US athletes and gym owners.

The following types of memberships are being offered by the USAG:

Athletes and Coaches

All athletes and coaches (Grappling Leader) will receive annual insurance coverage up to $25,000 as secondary accident insurance as part of their membership. This insurance serves to cover the deductible and co-payments of your primary insurance and moves to primary for those that are uninsured. The coverage is applicable if injured at a tournament or sanctioned practice. This policy also includes a $10,000 accidental death or dismemberment benefit.

Athletes under the age of 18 are welcome to become members

Athlete members 18 years and older must complete Safe Sport training.

Grappling Leader membership requires completion of a background check and Safe Sport training.

Academy and Clubs

Membership provides $1,000,000 / $5,000,000 General Liability insurance including $300,000 to damage of premise rented, and $500,000 sexual abuse coverage. Coverage is for the primary location of practice, and is solely available to members with a valid Grappling Leader membership.

Events

The sanctioned event provides $1,000,000 / $5,000,000 General Liability insurance including $300,000 to damage of premise rented, and $500,000 sexual abuse coverage. Coverage is for the location of the event and allows for additionally named insured. Sanctioning of events is solely available to members with a valid Grappling Leader membership.

Important Details

Membership is a 12-month calendar year. Active dates are September 1 - August 31.

All Adult athletes and Grappling Leader memberships must complete Safe Sport training.

Grappling Leaders are required to do a background check.
